Panther bowling season begins

OTTUMWA - The Mt. Pleasant bowling team fell at Ottumwa on Tuesday in its first meet of the season. The Panther boys rolled a 2,708 total and the girls rolled a 1,999.
Sam Anderson rolled a 488 to lead the boys' team individually. He threw a 268 in his first game and rolled a 180 in the second. Ethan Oilar was second on the team, bowling a 166 and a 212 for a total of 378.
Levi Mills finished the day at 337, rolling a 169 in his first game and a 168 in his second. Mark Steinhoff rolled a 133 and a 167 for a 300. Owen Steinhoff rolled a 169 and a 124 for 293, and Justin Alldredge rolled a 79 and a 105 for a 184.
Baker games for the varsity boys went 136, 165, 167, 129 and 171.
The varsity girls were led by Alexis Wohlleber, who rolled a 123 in her first game and a 168 in her second game for a total score of 291. Gillian Anderson rolled a 143 and a 124 to finish at 267. Medow Jensen rolled a 113 and a 124 to finish the day at 237.
Both Alex Hedgecock and Arlouny Phosy each rolled a 225. Hedgecock bowled a 128 in her first game and a 97 in her second, and Phosy rolled a 113 and a 92. Rachel Kuckes rolled a 104 and a 93 to round out the scorers with 197.
The varsity girls' baker games went 99, 120, 119, 122 and 97.
The junior varsity girls had five players going, and finished with a total pinfall of 1,171. Danna Wilson was the top JV girl, rolling a 91 and a 87 to finish at 178.
Addy Buffington rolled a 76 and a 96 to finish at 172. Jacqueline Tansy finished with 162 (82, 80). Jordan Alpara rolled a 160 (78, 82), and Cheyenne Kracht finished with a 144 (56, 88).
Baker games for the JV girls went 55, 70, 77, 67 and 86.
There were three bowlers for the junior varsity boys. Logan White rolled a 130 and a 103 to lead the JV team at 233. Damien Kracht rolled an 86 and 136 to finish at 222, and Payton Lovan rolled a 70 and a 132 to end the day at 202.
The bowling team will be at home for their next meet, which will be on Thursday, Nov. 29.
