Panther boys tennis nipped at home

MT. PLEASANT - The Mt. Pleasant boys tennis team took a tough one-point loss in Southeast Conference play on Thursday. Visiting Fort Madison edged the Panthers 5-4 at East Lake Park.
Mt. Pleasant won three of six singles games. Owen Vansickel won the No. 3 match, 8-4. Bryce Workman took the No. 4 match, 9-7, and Jake Ensminger swept the No. 6 match, 8-0.
David Nguyen lost the No. 1 singles match, 8-2. Jack Schimmelpfennig dropped the No. 2 match, 8-0, and Lincoln Henriksen was edged 8-6 in the No. 5 match.
The Panthers were only able to pick up one point in doubles, an 8-2 win in the No. 3 match by Graber and Brian Huynh.
Schimmelpfennig and Vansickel dropped the No. 1 doubles match, 8-1. The No. 2 team of Nguyen and Henriksen came up just short, falling 8-6.
