DANVILLE - The Mt. Pleasant girls fell in a nonconference game at Davnille on Monday night. A slow first quarter led to a 49-45 loss.
The Panthers were ice cold in the first eight periods, dropping the first quarter 11-4. They cut the Bears' lead to 21-15 at halftime.
Danville won the third quarter 16-12 to stretch the advantage to 10 points, at 37-27. Mt. Pleasant played their best basketball in the fourth quarter, outscoring Danville 18-12, but it wasn't enough to dig out of the hole.
Andrea Lopreato scored 13 points in the loss. Lydia Stewart had nine, and Isabel Ashton scored eight.
The Panther girls have now lost two games in a row after winning back-to-back games last week.
Mt. Pleasant is 4-10 overall. They'll put their 3-3 conference record on the line on Friday, Jan. 24, when they look for a season sweep over Washington in a Southeast Conference road game.
