Panther girls pummel Burlington
Mt. Pleasant leads start to finish in blowout road win

BURLINGTON — It was all Panthers on Tuesday night in Burlington as the Mt. Pleasant girls mauled the hosting Grayhounds 71-22 on their own home floor.
The Panthers never trailed in the Southeast Conference victory, picking up their second win in as many games to even up their conference record.
Mt. Pleasant scored the first 22 points of the ballgame, holding the Grayhounds scoreless over the first seven minutes of play. The Panthers led 24-3 at the end of the first quarter and took a 48-8 lead into the locker rooms.
The Panthers continued to score in bunches in the third and led 67-15 at the end of the period. Mt. Pleasant scored just four points in the final quarter with the starters on the bench.
Andrea Lopreato tallied 18 points to pace the Panther girls in the victory. Jadan Brumbaugh tacked on 15. Kenna Lamm scored 12, and Andi Scott had 10 to give the Panthers four double-digit scorers.
Elsie Lane put up eight points for the Panthers. Kate Schimmelpfennig scored six points, and Charice Auwerda finished with two.
