Panther girls run at Central College

PELLA - The Mt. Pleasant girls' tack and field team scored 17 points at a meet in Central College on Friday night, taking home three top-seven finishes in their final indoor meet. The Panthers ended up with 10 runners or relay teams in the top 15 in a packed field.
The best result of the day once again went to Lexie Magnani. She had the lone Mt. Pleasant win of the day, throwing a 40'10.5” in the shot put to beat out 100 other competitors for first place.
Lyndi Vantiger showed out in the long jump. She placed fourth out of 66 in that event with a leap of 15'6.75.” The Panthers also picked up points in the 4X800, with the squad of Abby Ryon, Kendall Dascher, Maggie Jennings and Cristina Carthey finishing in 10:52.70.
Mt. Pleasant had three runners in the top-13 in the 60-meter hurdle competition. Maddie Williamson took ninth, with a 10.41 second final. Kenna Lamm was 12th, with a final time of 10.54 seconds, and Karsyn Lamm was just behind Kenna with a 10.55 second finish for 13th.
The 4X200 team of Avery Sutter, Williamson, Vantiger and Kenna placed 12th, with a time of 1:58.67. In the 4X400, a team of Karsyn, Ralyn Seberg, Kenna and Sutter took 13th, in 4:40.95, finishing just one spot ahead of the squad of Ryon, Carthey, Dascher and Jennings, who ran 14th, in 4:41.32. Sutter had another top-15 finish in the 60-meter dash, crossing the tape in 8.56 seconds for 15th.
The Panther girls will be back at it on Tuesday, March 26, when they begin indoor season with a meet at West Burlington.
