Panther girls tennis falls on road
Mt. Pleasant done in by Keokuk in Southeast Conference battle

KEOKUK — The Mt. Pleasant tennis team couldn’t scoop up their first win of the season on Thursday. The Panthers fell 8-1 in Keokuk.
The Panthers’ lone winner was Bethany Drury. Drury dominated the No. 5 singles match, winning it 8-2.
Mt. Pleasant nearly got another win in singles, via Victoria Smith in the No. 3 game. Smith went into a tiebreaker with her opponent, but fell in a tough one, 9-8(8-6).
Eliana Situmeang lost the No. 1 singles match 8-4. Mary Kate Peterson fell 8-1 in the No. 2 match. Eva Rounceville dropped the No. 4 match, 8-1, and Audrey Richmond fell 8-1 in the No. 6 match.
The Panthers’ closest doubles match was at No. 2, when Peterson and Smith lost their match 8-4.
Situmeang and Richmond lost the No. 1 doubles match 8-2. Drury and Richmond also fell 8-2, losing the No. 3 doubles match.
