Panther girls win Pen City relays

FT. MADSION - Henry County had a great night at the Timm Lamb Pen City Relays on Monday in Ft. Madison. Mt. Pleasant led the way with a win in Class A, scoring 145 points on the day. Winfield-Mt. Union took first in Clss B with 103 points, and New London finished fourth in Class B with 88 points.
The Panthers were led by a double-win from Abby Ryon. Ryon took the 1500 meter run in 5:09.31, and added a win in the 3000-meter run, crossing in 10:59.
Maggie Cristoforo took the 400-meter hurdles, winning it in 1:06.26. The sprint medley team won in 1:55.91, and the distance medley team won in 4:29.36.
Mt. Pleasant took first and second in the shot put. Lexie Magnani won the shot with a throw of 40-07, and Jadan Brumbaugh took second in 37-01.50.
Maggie Jennings also had a second-place finish in the 800-meter run, crossing the line in 2:30.76. The 4X800 team took second as well, in 11:24.20. The shuttle hurdle relay team took the silver in 1:11.06, and Lynvi Vantiger finished second in the long jump with a leap of 15-11.75.
W-MU finished first and second in the Class B shot put. Anna Hudson took the event with a throw of 33-01.50, and Jobey Malone was second, with a throw of 32-03.
Whitney Vantiger took the 400-meter hurdles for W-MU, crossing the tape in 1:22.36. New London's Paris Wilka took second, crossing in 1:26.84. The W-MU 4X100 team picked up a win for the Wolves as well. They finished in 56.10 seconds.
The W-MU 4X200 team finished second in 2:05.57. Molly Miller also picked up a second place, throwing an 87-04 in the discus.
New London had four wins on the day, three of which went to Lexi Brown. Brown dominated all day, taking the 800-meter run, the 1500 and the 3000.
Brown's final time in the 800 was 2:38.54. She took the 1500 in 5:38.31, beating W-MU's Isabella Mertens, who took second, in 4:59.40. She crossed the tape in 11:33.40 in the 3000.
Jenna Hummell took first for New London in the 200-meter dash, finishing in 29.76 seconds. The distance medley team took second for NL, finishing in 4:49.20.
