Panther JV volleyball wins tourney
The Mt. Pleasant JV team won its home tournament over the weekend with an undefeated record, going 5-0.
The Panthers swept Van Buren, 21-4 and 21-10, and defeated Burlington ? they won the first set, 21-17, lost the second, 21-19, and won the third, 15-13.

The Mt. Pleasant JV team won its home tournament over the weekend with an undefeated record, going 5-0.
The Panthers swept Van Buren, 21-4 and 21-10, and defeated Burlington ? they won the first set, 21-17, lost the second, 21-19, and won the third, 15-13.
They then came out with a win over Davis County, despite losing the first set, 23-21. They won two straight to take the victory, two sets to one: 21-12 and 15-11.
In the semi-finals, the Panthers beat Ft. Madison in two sets, 21-17 and 21-18.
They also swept Holy Trinity in the championship, 21-17 and 21-19.
Mary Wester led the offensive attack with 24 kills; she also had 15 ace serves. Hannah Becker had 16 kills along with four solo blocks and seved four aces.
Elle Schliesman had five aces and four kills as well as three blocks, but it was Jena Stukerjurgen who led the team with 26 aces on the day on 71-for-76 serving. Stukerjurgen also had 28 assists.
Hattie Liechty had a team-high 52 digs as well as four aces and four kills, and Ashley Hummell had 18 digs and two aces.
