MT. PLEASANT — The Mt. Pleasant softball team was involved in a slugfest with Holy Trinity Catholic on Tuesday before lightning and rain rendered it a no-contest.
The Panthers were in the midst of a five-run comeback against the visiting Crusaders. Mt. Pleasant had rallied back from down 5-0 to cut the lead to 6-5.
Mt. Pleasant’s Macy Jones and Keagyn Coleman each had two-RBI singles after the team trailed by five runs in the bottom of the second. In the third, Chaley Cook connected with an RBI double.
Cook was in the circle for the Panthers when Holy Trinity came up in the top of the fourth inning, but a lightning delay turned into a cancellation.
