Panther softball loses two to Bloodhounds
Mt. Pleasant scores just three runs through the SEC doubleheader

FORT MADISON — Mt. Pleasant softball was doubled up on in Fort Madison Monday night as the Panthers fell 11-1 and 10-2.
It was a tough night for the Panthers as the Bloodhounds bats were on fire all night long in the Southeast Conference matchup.
In game one, Fort Madison scored five runs in the first inning and three more in the second.
Mt. Pleasant was never able to come back.
In addition, the Bloodhound scored an additional three to make it 11-0.
The Panthers lone run came in the top of the fifth inning, but it wasn’t enough to keep the game alive.
Addison Clark ended with a hit and an RBI in the loss for Mt. Pleasant.
Jersey Beachy and Jolynn Martin each had hits as well.
Myah Starr pitched 3.1 innings for the Panthers. Starr gave up 10 runs (seven earned) on nine hits with two strikeouts.
Tyi Alter pitched 0.2 innings, giving up one run (one earned) on one hit.
In game two, the Panthers and Bloodhounds were scoreless through two innings.
Fort Madison opened up the game with two runs in the bottom of the third and they would never lose it.
After a scoreless fourth, the Bloodhounds scored five more in the bottom of the fifth frame to make it a 7-0 ballgame.
The Panther put two runs of their own up in the sixth with Jolynn Martin and Ella McNamee picking up RBIs.
Fort Madison capped off the bout with three more in the bottom of the sixth.
Jolynn Martin led the Panthers going 2-for-3 with an RBI.
Ella McNamee went 1-for-2 with an RBI as well.
Kynlee White, Addison Clark, Emma Starr and Jayden Housh each had one hit.
Martin pitched a complete game for Mt. Pleasant, giving up 10 runs (five earned) on 14 hits and three strikeouts.
With the pair of losses, the Panthers drop to 4-22 on the season and 1-13 in Southeast Conference play.
