Panther softball shutout by Mustangs

BLOOMFIELD — Mt. Pleasant softball hit the road on Wednesday night to take on the Davis County Mustangs.
For the Panthers, it was a night they would like to forget as the Mustangs were victorious with the shutout, 12-0.
Davis County came out scorching hot in the first inning.
The Mustangs scored 11 in the bottom half of the first to take a commanding lead.
Mt. Pleasant couldn’t find an answer inside the box and Davis County added one more in the bottom of the third to end the game in three innings.
Davis County threw a no hitter in the win.
For Mt. Pleasant, Ella McNamee and Tyi Alter allowed a combined 12 runs on 12 hits, two walks and one hit batter.
The Panthers move to 3-23 on the season. They faced off with Fairfield (24-8) on Thursday night and will take on Davenport Central (5-21) on Saturday in the Rick Doran Classic at Iowa City West High School.
