Panther tennis teams bust Big Reds

The Mt. Pleasant boys' tennis team took it to Centerville in a nonconference match on Friday at East Lake Park. The Panthers took the top four singles matches and all three doubles matches to knock off the Big Reds 7-2.
Corbin Broeker and Jaxon Hoyle got things started with a couple of wins in the No. 1 and No. 2 singles matches respectively. Broeker beat Brady Hughes 8-4, and Hoyle matched that with an 8-4 win over Otis Williams.
Donny Arledge took down Jakob Bauer in the No. 3 match, beating him 8-6. David Nguyen cruised in the No. 4 match, beating Reece Sells 8-1.
Jack Schimmelpfennig and Clayton Henriksen both fell in their singles matches. Schimmelpfennig lost 8-6 to McCain Oden, and Clayton Henriksen fell 8-4 to Austin Dell in the No. 6 match.
Broeker and Hoyle cruised in the No. 1 doubles match, sweeping Williams and Bauer 8-0. Arledge and Schimmelpfennig grinded out a 9-7 win over Hughes and Sells in the No. 2 match, and Nguyen and Henriksen beat Oden and Dell 8-6 in the No. 3 match.
The Panthers moved to 3-1 on the year. They'll be back at home on Thursday, April 11, when they host Fairfield.
