KEOKUK - The Mt. Pleasant wrestling team started the 2020 Southeast Conference schedule 0-1 after a loss at Keokuk on Thursday night. The Chiefs out-dueled the Panthers 43-30.
Mt. Pleasant had three pins in the loss. Carson Coleman picked up a pin in the final seconds of his 132-pound match against Keokuk's Alejandro Morales. Reean Seberg pinned Conrad Kirchner in 3 minutes, 51 seconds in the 138-pound match, and Chayse Irving pinned Zack Glasscock in his 170-pound bout.
The Panthers forfeited four weights. One of those was a double forfeit at 113 pounds, but the other three led to 18 Keokuk points.
Mt. Pleasant will look to bounce back next week when the Panthers host Fort Madison in their second conference dual of the season.
