Panthers double up on Trojans
Mt. Pleasant boys and girls tennis downs Fairfield

Mt. Pleasant boys and girls tennis had a great outing last Thursday against Fairfield.
Both the Panthers’ teams picked up wins over the Trojans, with the boys winning 8-1 and the girls 7-2.
The boys dropped just one match on the day.
Owen Vansickel defeated Garrett Flanagan in the No. 1 match 6-2 and 6-3.
Jace Hannes picked up Fairfield’s one victory in the No. 2 match, downing the Panther’s Jake Ensminger 6-0 and 6-1.
In the No. 3 contest, Levi Graber was a winner for Mt. Pleasant. Graber beat Brendan Marcellus 6-0 and 6-1.
Mt. Pleasant’s Lincoln Henriksen won his match over Dil Hurlin 6-2 and 6-0.
Elliot Cook added another notch to the win column with two 6-2 victories over Aidan Flanagan.
Tim Cam rounded out the Panthers singles wins, defeating Jack Unger 6-4 and 2-6 (10-7).
In doubles, Vansickel and Ensminger downed Flanagan and Hannes 3-6 and 6-3 (10-4) in the No. 1 match.
Graber and Henriksen won 6-4 and 6-3 over Marcellus and Hurlin.
Cook and Cam capped off the Panthers day with a 6-1 and 6-3 victory over Flanagan and Unger.
On the girls side, the Panther’s Savana Walls was a winner over Sydney Wells 8-4 in a single set.
Melanie Olivas grabbed another victory for Mt. Pleasant, winning 8-6 over Madison Greiner.
The Panther’s Gisele Fajardo defeated Giteeka Adhikari 8-6.
Malena Yocum topped the Trojan’s Emma Wendland 8-3.
Emily Simpson secured Fairfield’s one singles win with a 8-6 victory over Eva Rounceville.
Mt. Pleasant’s Eliana Situmeang won her match 8-1 over Una Carter.
In the doubles matches, Walls and Olivas defeated Wells and Greiner 8-6.
Fajardo and Yocum were winners over Adhikari and Simpson 8-1.
Fairfield’s second victory came from Wendland and Carter. The two defeated Rounceville and Situmeang 8-5.
