Fairfield?s conference woes continued Monday as it dropped another close dual, this time falling 5-4 to the Mount Pleasant girls? tennis team.
The Trojans and Mount Pleasant split the singles matches 3-3, but the Panthers pulled out a pair of close matches in doubles action to complete the season sweep of Fairfield.
Karley Williams picked up an 8-5 win over Mount Pleasant?s Shelby Barton at No. 2 singles and the Trojans? No. 4 Rachel Hathaway defeated Becca Lehman 8-3. Courtney Laux won 8-2 over Ashton Whaley at No. 5 singles. Haylee Gilpin and Kim O?Carroll came through with an 8-4 win at No. 1 doubles, beating Taylor Beatty and Tasha Glover.
In JV action, Madison Soupiset and Ashlee Hardeman both won 6-3, and Arielle Smith picked up a 5-0 victory. Harley Cook and Bryana Gridley earned a 7-5 win in doubles play.
The Trojans face crosstown rival Maharishi School today on the M.U.M. courts.
