ELDRIDGE — It’s been a tough season for the Mt. Pleasant football team.
While still searching for their first win on Friday night, the Panthers ended their season against one of their toughest opponents of the season in North Scott.
The Panthers had a tough time with the Lancers as North Scott took the win, 49-10. The loss marks the end of Mt. Pleasant’s season.
Mt. Pleasant had no answer for North Scott to start the contest and also struggled to get the offense rolling against a stout Lancer defense.
North Scott scored all 49 points in the first half. The Lancers scored 21 points in the first quarter alone. They then topped the first with 28 points in the second.
Mt. Pleasant scored just three in the second quarter and added seven in the fourth in the loss.
Jacob Richtman threw for 136 yards for Mt. Pleasant.
Bowen Davis led on the ground for the Panthers with 14 carries for 46 yards. Payton Walker and Zerek Venghaus each added 21 yards. Venghaus had the Panthers lone touchdown as well.
In the receiving column, Wyatt Woodsmall finished with a pair of receptions for 55 yards. Garrett Cook followed with 28 yards on two catches.
Bryce Wilson led defensively with eight tackles.
Mt. Pleasant ends its season with a 0-9 record.
