FT. MADISON -- A modest two-game winning streak for the Mt. Pleasant girls was snapped on Monday, falling 60-43 to Holy Trinity Catholic in nonconference play.
The Panthers were coming off back-to-back wins in Southeast Conference play and were trying to get their first nonconference win, but the Panthers were never able to get going and the Crusaders held a steady lead throughout the game.
Maddie Williamson and Lydia Stewart co-led the team with 10 points apiece. Sydni Coleman had nine points. Sadie Carrasco scored six points and led the team with eight rebounds.
Karsyn Lamm, Emma Rugg and Elli Liechty each had two points in the loss. Liechty led the team in assists, with two. Isabel Ashton and Emma Huckabone each finished the night with one point.
Despite the loss, the Panthers were able to force a handful of Crusader turnovers and wound up with 10 steals on the night. Stewart had four to lead the team. Williamson had three steals. Carrasco had two, and Coleman finished with one.
The Panther girls are now 2-9 overall. They'll try and pick up a nonconference home win on Thursday, Jan. 19, when Danville comes to down.
