Panthers fall to No. 5 Pella

MT. PLEASANT - The fifth-ranked team in Class 3A came into Mt. Pleasant on Tuesday night, and the Panthers couldn't withstand an onslaught of Little Dutch baskets. Pella got out with an 81-49 win, ending Mt. Pleasant's regular season.
The Dutch were on fire from outside, going 11-for-25 from 3-point land. Pella led 24-16 after one quarter, 42-25 at halftime and 71-34 after three periods.
Chase Williamson scored 15 points to lead Mt. Pleasant. Dewon Trent had nine points. Brevin Wilson and Sam Jerrel scored seven points apiece. Owen Vansickel had five points. Jack Johnson, Cooper Pullis and Peyton Hagans scored two points each.
Mt. Pleasant is now 12-10 on the year. They will travel to Keokuk on Monday night for the Class 3A Substate 5 opener.
