ALBIA ? The Pekin boys? track and field team took advantage of unlimited entries and ran a full lineup at the Albia Quad meet Thursday night.
The foursome of Hunter Maeder, Josh Sterling, Jordan Hagedon and Quinton Garrels teamed up for victories in both of the sprint relays posting wins in the 4x100 (46.8) and 4x200 (1:41.2).
Trey Sathoff was also a victor as he matched his career-best high jump mark clearing the bar at 6-feet, 6-inches. Sathoff jumped 6-feet, 5-inches three days earlier at the Ruritan Relays Monday.
The Panthers also gained a heap of runner-up results including six individual events. Tyler Sylvester was second in the 110-high hurdles (17.8), Derek Morales in the shot put (45? 9?) as well as the discus (119? 2?), Eli Harper in the 800 (2:12), Bryce Sines in the 100 (11.4) and long jump (19? 8?).
?It?s the one meet we can run everyone, and when the team is as big as ours is, we need these to keep some interest,? said head coach Davis Eidahl. ?With each meet, I?m seeing improvement with the team.?
Next up for Pekin is a trip to Bloomfield Tuesday.
