FORT MADISON — The Mt. Pleasant softball team faced off against Fort Madison on Monday night in a Southeast Conference doubleheader. Coming into the matchup with just one conference win, the Panthers managed to double that total by the end of the night.
Mt. Pleasant split the doubleheader, dropping the first game 9-6 but bouncing back with an 11-9 victory in the second.
In Game 1, Paityn Ensminger led the offense with two hits and three RBIs. Izzy Sloat and Bella Dodds also recorded two hits each, while Keagyn Coleman added a hit and an RBI. Jolynn Martin, Chaley Cook, and Lila Cook each chipped in with a hit.
Game 2 was an offensive showcase for the Panthers, who racked up 17 hits. Saige Burchett led the charge with four hits and three RBIs. Lila Cook, although hitless, drove in three runs.
Jolynn Martin and Linzy Striegel each had three hits and an RBI. Keagyn Coleman, Parker Coleman, and Izzy Sloat collected two hits apiece, with both Colemans adding RBIs. Paityn Ensminger contributed with a single hit.
Mt. Pleasant now sits at 4-15 and 2-6 in the SEC.
