Panthers pop Keokuk in boys’ tennis

The Mt. Pleasant boys' tennis team just keeps winning. The Panthers picked up another SEC dual win on Friday, taking down Keokuk 7-2.
Corbin Broeker and Jaxon Hoyle both won in the No. 1 and No. 2 singles matches respectively. Broeker beat Abbot Haner 8-4, and Hoyle defeated Kaiden Stoneking 8-6.
David Nguyen took the No. 4 match 8-0 over Jared Evans. Jack Schimmelpfennig beat Will James 8-4 in the No. 5 match, and Clayton Henriksen defeated Tucker Hanan by an 8-4 score as well, in the No. 6 match.
The only singles loss for Mt. Pleasant went to No. 3 Donny Arledge, who fell 8-2 to Callum Takes.
The Panthers took two out of three in doubles. Arledge and Schimmelpfennig beat Stoneking and Hanan 8-4 in the No. 2 match, and Nguyen and Henriksen won the No. 3 match 8-5 over Evans and James.
Broeker and Hoyle fell in the No. 1 doubles match. They lost to Haner and Takes, 8-5.
Mt. Pleasant is now 5-1 overall this season. They'll be on the road on Tuesday, April 23, when they head to Burlington to take on Notre Dame.
