The Mt. Pleasant girls? golf team combines experience with new faces for a team that has some talent but struggles with a lack of depth.
The Panthers return two-time conference tournament medalist Natalie Booton, as well as fellow seniors Lindsay Dorn and Danika Christner.
Booton and Dorn are playing their final year of high school golf, but will be teammates again next season at William Penn, where both have signed a letter of intent to play golf.
All three of the Mt. Pleasant seniors are returning letterwinners, along with sophomore Courtney Mabeus.
The team also added three freshmen this season: Emily Cox, Hailey Spence and Whitney Barton.
Coach Jim Kelly is happy to see four girls coming back from last year?s team. The group finished the season at the district tournament with a 36-19 overall record and didn?t lose anyone to graduation.
And while the the addition of three freshmen is helpful, Kelly is still looking for more.
?(Our) team weakness is lack of depth,? Kelly said.
The Panthers begin their season on Tuesday, April 3, when they host Fairfield at the Mt. Pleasant Golf and Country Club. The meet begins at 4 p.m.
