Panthers run at Iowa Mennonite

KALONA - The Mt. Pleasant cross-country team has been staying busy this week, and their schedule brought them to the Iowa Mennonite meet on Monday. The Panther girls had the best day of the two teams, finishing fourth place with 106 points.
Abby Ryon, who was coming off a personal best at Wartburg on Saturday, led the Panther girls with a final time of 21:10.54 for ninth-place overall. Cristina Carthey was the second Panther across, finishing 16th in 21:35.85.
Maggie Jennings cracked the top 25 with a final time of 22:01.65, for 24th place. Kendall Dascher was 31st in 22:35.62. Claire Holtkamp crossed in 22:40.15, for 34th. Monroe Swain was 54th, in 24:13.48, and Abby Blint finished 62nd, in 24:38.68.
The Panther boys were eighth, scoring 188 points on the day. Mt. Pleasant was running without Cody Mertens, who had a personal best of his own at Wartburg on Saturday.
Dalton Moyle stepped up to lead the Panthers, and he did so in a big way. Moyle finished the race in fourth-place, crosisng the line in 17:59.02.
There was a big gap between Moyle and the rest of the Panther boys. Nick McCormick and Dakota Triska placed 45th and 46th respectively. McCormick crossed in 19:46.30, and Triska ran the race in 19:47.38.
Logan White finished 53rd, crossing in 19:55.89. Drake Snavely was 61st, in 20:11.46. Luke Ryon took 75th, in 20:57.50, and Heath Brooks was 100th, in 21:55.84 to round out the top 7.
