Panthers shutout Trojans
Mt. Pleasant girls soccer puts up five first-half goals en rout to victory over Fairfield

MT. PLEASANT — Mt. Pleasant girls soccer had its offense clicking early and often against Fairfield on Monday night.
Coupled with some stifling defense, the Panthers were able to shutout the Trojans for a 6-0 victory.
Elly Manning kicked off the scoring for the Panthers and they continued to apply the pressure.
Tori Wilson went on to add a pair, along with additional goals from Charice Auwerda and Hailey Parrot to make it 5-0 at the half.
Fairfield was able to get some good looks throughout the second half but was unable to spark a comeback.
Auwerda added her second goal late in the second half to put the game away.
Auwerda, along with her two goals finished with four assists as well. Wilson also had an assist as well.
In goal, Ashley Davis and Leslie Lopez did well holding for the shutout with two saves.
Now at 4-2, the Panthers will take on Fort Madison on Thursday.
Fairfield drops to 0-5 on the season. After a match with Knoxville on Tuesday, the Trojans will take on Keokuk on Thursday at home.
