Panthers take second at Washington Invite

WASHINGTON - The Mt. Pleasant boys' golf team took second out of five teams on Saturday at a tournament in Washington. The Panthers shot a 332, falling only to Pella's final stroke count of 314. Washington took third at 351. Ft. Madison was fourth, at 391, and Columbus was fifth at 431.
The four Mt. Pleasant scorers all finished within three strokes of each other. Trace White led Mt. Pleasant and took fifth overall with a final stroke count of 81, shooting a 43 on the front nine and a 38 on the back.
Rhett Zeglen was the second-best Panther, shooting a 41 and a 42 to finish at 83. Bailey Shelledy shot a 42 on the front and back nines to finish out at 84. Jake Moffett shot an 84 as well, shooting 47 on the front and 37 on the back.
Brevin Wilson shot a 43 on both the front and back nine to finish just outside the Panther top four, with a final stroke count of 86. Reece Kempker shot a 52 and a 54 to end the day at 106.
The Panthers will be back on the road on Tuesday, April 23, when they head to Oskaloosa for a meet at Edmundson Golf Course.
