Parks and Recreation offers youth programs

The Mt. Pleasant Parks and Recreation Department is accepting registration for Panther cheerleading camp and kindergarten flag football.

Cheerleading camp is for children from kindergarten through fifth grade, and will be on Saturday mornings from Sept. 10 to Oct. 8 at the Cottrell Gym.

Each cheerleader will be taught jumps, chats and flexibilty exercises, and then will cheer at the Oct. 14 Panther football game.

Registration ends Sept. 9.

Kindergarten flag football will teach fundamentals of football, but will have no contact drills. It will be at East Lake Park in the softball complex on Tuesday evenings from Sept. 13 to Oct. 4.

Registration ends Sept. 6.
