Pekin, Cardinal, Van Buren compete at Dennis Anderson Relays

The Pekin, Cardinal and Van Buren boys? and girls? track teams competed at the Dennis Anderson Relays at Davis County High School in Bloomfield Monday.

Wayne, Davis County, Schuyler County and Putnam County (Mo.) competed with them in Class A. The Pekin boys ran away with the team competition.

?We were pleased with how we improved our times in most events,? Pekin coach Davis Eidahl said. ?This week we spent [time] on conditioning and we saw good results in the meet.?

Pekin?s 4x800-meter relay team, consisting of Cole Reighard, Ryan Millikin, Cade Millikin and Austin Fariss finished first by nearly 20 seconds. Pekin earned first place finishes in 10 total events.

Cardinal?s Charlie Rachford had a quality day in Bloomfield. The William Penn University commit won the 200-meter dash with the time of 24:25 and also won the long jump competition.

Cardinal?s Josh Ramos finished first in the discus throw, just ahead of Pekin Jared Bond and Eric Adam. Adam would go on to finish first in the shot put just ahead of Bond.
