The season came to a close for the Keota baseball team on Friday night, when they took on Pekin.
The Eagles hosted Pekin on the night, and despite jumping on them early, the Panthers proved too much to handle.
A two-run second inning saw the Eagles jump on top first, but the Panthers responded with a six-run bottom half of the frame to take the lead for good.
The Panthers extended their lead in every frame after that, as they cruised to a 13-5 victory over the Eagles.
Despite giving up only two hits, Dakota Slaughter ended up taking the loss, as all six of the runs scored on him went down as unearned.
Jacob Wickencamp and Luke Greiner each had a pair of hits for the Eagles in the contest, while Greiner and Jack Eakins each scored twice.
The Eagles end their season at 9-17, and will graduate one senior from this year?s squad.
Pekin advanced to the district finals, where they lost to Lone Tree 3-1 on Saturday.
