Pekin falls to Huskies as Highland advances in football postseason

RIVERSIDE — The Pekin Panthers closed their regular season with a loss to a playoff team. Highland notched a 49-14 football win Friday against the visitors to qualify for the Class A playoffs as the fourth place team in District 5.
Pekin ends its year at 0-8, 0-5 while Highland is 3-5, 2-3 and will play at Lynnville-Sully (7-1) Friday.
Pekin’s Luke long caught two passes and Kevin Rohr one. Logan Lauderman ran 23 times for 80 yards. Colton Comstock had 43 yards on eight carries. Rohr and Deklan Hampton each rushed for 41 yards on a combined five carries. Lauderman and Rohr each scored a touchdown.
