Pekin gets two, Van Buren one on first team all-SEISC
The Southeast Iowa Super Conference has announced the 2008-09 all-conference teams, landing Pekin?s Cody Millikin and Trey Sathoff and Van Buren?s Jordan Hervey on the first team. In just his freshman season, Sathoff led the Panthers with 14.5 points per game and second on the team with 5.7 rebounds per game behind 8.3 from Millikin. The Southeast Iowa Super Conference has announced the 2008-09 all-conference teams, landing Pekin?s Cody Millikin and Trey Sathoff and Van Buren?s Jordan Hervey on the first team. In just his freshman season, Sathoff led the Panthers with 14.5 points per game and second on the team with 5.7 rebounds per game behind 8.3 from Millikin. Millikin shot 54 percent from the field and averaged 14.3 points on the year on his way to his second first-team selection. The junior Hervey averaged nearly a double-double with 18 points on 61 percent shooting from the field and 9.5 rebounds per game ? Hervey led the Warriors in both categories.
Juniors Trenton Northup and Brady Lamb of Pekin, and Dennis Halverson and Lewis Russell of Van Buren found themselves on the second team. Lamb and Northup helped the Panthers to a appearance in the district finale, losing to eventual state tournament qualifier Central Lee.
Derek Robison and Dalton Stone gave Pekin two selections and received honorable mention. Joe Aguirre and Michael Boyd of Van Buren, Matt Smith and Trevor Kayser of Cardinal and Maharishi School?s Josh Posner and Pasha Bousquet were also given honorable mention.
