Pekin girls shut down Louisa-Muscatine
GRANDVIEW TOWNSHIP ? Wins are becoming routine for the Pekin girls? basketball team, and their contest against Louisa-Muscatine Friday provided nothing new as the Panthers won a low-scoring affair 37-31.
The Panthers led for most of the contest, building a 8-6 lead after quarter one into a 21-11 advantage at halftime. Louisa-Muscatine whittled the deficit down to 31-27 with a few minutes to go.

Cheyann Lankford led the Panthers with 12 points on 6-of-8 shooting for the charity stripe. Emily Ellis, Brandy Millikin and Paige Jensen added six points apiece.
?Our girls played through much adversity,? said Pekin head coach Davis Eidahl. ?We missed key shots we normally make. ... To our girls credit, we did get a victory on their home court.?
The Panthers (5-0, 3-0 SEISC north) will look to continue their undefeated season when they host Columbus Tuesday.
