Pekin picks up two more wins
PACKWOOD ? The Pekin volleyball team came away as the big winner at its home triangular Thursday evening.
The Panthers won both of their matches beginning with a 25-14, 25-11 victory over West Burlington and rallying to take a 25-23, 23-25, 15-6 victory against Winfield-Mount Union.
The wins improve Pekin to 5-1 on the young season.

PACKWOOD ? The Pekin volleyball team came away as the big winner at its home triangular Thursday evening.
The Panthers won both of their matches beginning with a 25-14, 25-11 victory over West Burlington and rallying to take a 25-23, 23-25, 15-6 victory against Winfield-Mount Union.
The wins improve Pekin to 5-1 on the young season.
Maranda Baker led the Panthers offensively with six kills followed by Paige Jensen with four while also getting five blocks. Leslie Stone tallied 14 assists, Emily Ellis had 13 and Tori Davis came up with 20 digs on the night. Davis and Kelsey Molkenthin each had three service aces.
Next up for Pekin will be Thursday?s SEISC north-division opener vs. Mediapolis back on its home court.
