Pekin softball drops first two games of season

The Pekin softball team is 0-2 after a pair of contests earlier this week. The Panthers dropped their first game of the year 18-6 against Mediapolis, and fell 11-6 against Van Buren County one night later.
Against Mediapolis on Monday, the Panthers held an early 2-0 lead, but the Bullettes scored the next 10 runs and never looked back. Five Mediapolis hitters finished the game with three hits or more. Pekin collected five hits total.
Van Buren County scored seven runs over their last two at bats to vanquish the Panthers on Tuesday.
Sophomore Ivy Davidson went 3-for-4 with a double and four RBIs. Annabelle Cormier finished 2-for-4 with a double and two RBIs. Both Cala Smith and Alli Campbell knocked in a run, and Kylee Roen collected a pair of hits.
