No. 9 (A) Pekin 28, North Mahaska 22 (OT)
What was a 22-7 Pekin lead nearly turned into disaster as North Mahaska fought back to tie the game at 22-22 in the fourth quarter, and even had a chance to win the game late in regulation.
Reed Lauderman made the game-saving tackle at the 20-yard line on a completed deep pass by North Mahaska on the final play of regulation, and Pekin’s defense held in overtime to give the Panthers a shot at the win.
Henry Adam scored untouched on a counter play on the Panthers’ first offensive play in overtime to seal the deal and keep the Panthers unbeaten.
Adam scored all four Pekin touchdowns. He finished the game with five catches for 205 yards and two touchdowns, while also rushing for 23 yards and two scores.

Columbus fumbled three times in its first three possessions at Wapello’s Homecoming, which put the Wildcats in a 27-0 hole after the first quarter.
Despite a variant comeback attempt, Columbus could never get back into position to take the lead.
