Pekin sweeps Moravia triangular

MORAVIA - The Pekin and Cardinal wrestling teams showed down in Moravia on Monday night at the Mohawks' home triangular. Pekin won the night, beating Cardinal 36-24 and Moravia 36-30. The Comets dropped their dual to Moravia 47-18 to finish the night at 0-2.

The Panthers and Comets tallied two pins apiece during their dual. Pekin picked up a pin from Cael Baker, at 152 pounds, and Mason Juhl, at 182 pounds. Cardinal's Karson Kirkpatrick won by pinfall in the 113-pound match, and Donovan Babcock earned a pin in the 195-pound match.

Pekin had three pins in its victory over Moravia, all coming in back-to-back-to-back matches. Gavyn Brown won by pinfall in the second period of his 132-pound bout, and both Michael Jones and Bailey Frescoln had first-period pins at 138 pounds and 145 pounds respectively.

There were only three matches that weren't forfeits in Cardinal's loss to Moravia. All Comet wins were via forfeit.
