Pekin’s Glosser takes third at Bud and Bonnie Williams invite

Pekin’s Chloe Glosser put in a strong performance at the Bud and Bonnie Williams Invitational last Thursday. The senior took third place in the girls race with a time of 18:17.4.
Led by Glosser’s performance, the Panthers placed fifth in team scoring with 150 points.
Pekin finished seventh in the boys race with 253 points. Cole Millikin had the best individual performance at 16:57.8 to place 26th overall.
Hillcrest Academy and WACO also participated in the event on the boys side. WACO placed eighth with 260 points and Hillcrest finished 13th with 362.
Winfield-Mt Union hosted nine teams at its own invitational Thursday. The Wolves boys team finished seventh with 201 points. WMU did not place in team scoring in the girls race.
Highland also participated in the W-MU event but did not place in team scoring in either race. Grace Bombei took 13th in the girls race at 24:46.4. Kyler Fink was Highland’s best runner on the boys side, placing 43rd at 23:13.0.
Mid-Prairie and Columbus took part in the Steve Johnson Invite on Saturday. The Golden Hawks placed 12th out of 25 teams in the girls race. Brooklyn Stutzman finished 15th overall at 19:32.5.
In the 35-team event on the boys side, Columbus finished 27th with 703 points. Mid-Prairie finished 31st with 773.
