This photo is a great depiction of Sigourney-Keota running back Sam Sieren, who never seemed to have a negative rush. He was always bulling forward for extra yardage. He gained 231 yards in the Cobras semifinal loss at the UNI-Dome to the eventual state champions. Keota was the district champion and finished with a 10-1 record (File)

Brayden Hartman wrestles at the state meet Feb. 20, 2020. Just a freshman, Hartman lost his two matches at state. In his opener against Van Meter's Derrin Sesker (42-3), who finish third, Hartman trailed 2-0 in the third period when coaches told him to try a big move that led to his pin. Hartman had a 22-16 record.
