Pioneer girls receive boost from bottom of lineup

Without Minna Mohammadi, Nos. 4-6 came through to win in singles action and the Pioneers swept all three doubles matches.
At No. 4 singles, Alina Knight rallied back to win her match 9-8. Knight trailed 2-5 before forcing a tiebreaker, which she won 9-7. No. 5 Flower Shreck cruised to an 8-3 victory, and Jacqueline Leete took an 8-2 win at No. 6.
In doubles action, Katya Sheridan and Mohammadi won at No. 1 with an 8-6 victory. Pearl Sawhney and Sophia Medvedeva won their No. 2 doubles match 8-2, and Knight and Leete both tacked on their second win of the day, an 8-6 victory at No. 3.
Maharishi School?s Hifza Akber posted an impressive 8-1 victory in JV singles play.
Maharishi School (4-0) will look to continue its hot streak Tuesday with a crosstown matchup against Fairfield.
