PACKWOOD - The Pekin High School football team lost its game Friday to Belle Plaine 32-0.
The visiting Plainsmen defense was tough, but the Panthers offensive was not clicking.
'We struggled in a lot of areas, but the good thing is that we get to try it again next week,” Pekin head coach Bud Blakely said. 'We get to spend sometime improving on some fundamental areas.”
Pekin hosts Cardinal as Class 1A District 6 play will begin for both teams.
'I felt we played better in the second half,” Blakely said. 'It would have been easy to completely roll over but our kids kept at it and managed to keep them at bay in the second half.”
