As we get into the heart of the winter sports season, the Washington Evening Journal is pleased to announce a new addition to our coverage of local sports.
Beginning on Tuesday, Jan. 27, The Journal will be debuting a weekly podcast dedicated to the coverage of local sports in the area, and we?d love to hear your suggestions.
The podcast will be posted once per week on Tuesdays at 4 p.m., and will feature news and audio clips from the biggest competitions and events happening all around The Journal area.
It will be posted on the Washington Evening Journal Web site, and will be available in front of the paywall (free access, even for non-subscribers) each week thanks in part to Federation Bank, who is exclusively sponsoring the first two weeks of the podcast.
As a sports news junkie and an active listener to podcasts, I?m very excited to usher in this new chapter of storytelling to The Journal?s wide array of coverage.
With my personal background in broadcasting, I am also excited to see how far this venture can go, but that all starts with listeners.
So when you listen to the podcast, feel free to leave your comments and suggestions, and I will read and consider all of them.
Being a new adventure, it can?t grow without your help and suggestions, so feel free to send me an e-mail (sports@washjrnl.com) or give a call into the paper (319-653-2191) and let me know what you think.
Do you think I missed the big game of the week? Did I forget to mention something that happened that week? Let me know. This podcast is for the readers, so if something needs to be on it, don?t hesitate in telling me.
I?m thrilled about bringing this to the Washington area, and hope it can be a staple of the Washington County sports coverage for years to come.
We?ll see you on the other side.
