Practice making perfect

The Fairfield volleyball team continued to roll through preseason practice Tuesday afternoon at FHS as Dana Diers (left) reaches up for a ball against the block of Erin Thompson (middle) and Tori Ogden. The Trojans will play an intrasquad scrimmage as part of Meet the Trojans night Thursday following player introductions scheduled for 6:30 p.m.

Fairfield will begin its season Aug. 26 with a home quad meet vs. Eddyville-Blakesburg, Albia and IMS. The Trojans will then begin the defense of its four straight Southeast Conference titles with its next contest a week later in the SEC opener vs. Mount Pleasant.

Festivities for Meet the Trojans night will begin at 6 p.m. with team photos. Players will be introduced at 6:30 p.m. in Trojan Stadium followed by scrimmages by the football team and volleyball team in the FHS gym. The Booster Club will be on hand to provide a meal and sell memberships, apparel and other items.
