Prep baseball roundup: Keota wins second straight, Cardinal falls short

A handful of Union area baseball teams were in action on Wednesday night. A slew saw success, while others came up short.
Keota 3, Lone Tree 0
The Eagles played great defense in their matchup with the Lions.
Keota scored once in the second and twice in the fourth to move past Lone Tree on Wednesday.
With eight hits, Aidan Anderson, Caden Clarahan, Colten Clarahan, Dalton Dodd, Cole Kindred, Chase Sieren, Evan Vittetoe and Caleb Waterhouse all tallied a hit. Colten Clarahan also had two RBIs.
Both Clarahan’s and Aiden McGuire were on the mound for Keota.
Davis County 10, Cardinal 8
Cardinal never led in the matchup against Davis County.
The Mustangs scored two in the first and one in the third, while the Comets brought two home between the second and third, making it a 3-2 ballgame.
After two scoreless innings, Davis County outscored Cardinal 7-6 in the final two innings.
Kaleb Figueroa, Drake Durflinger and Josh Courtney all had two hits in the game. Figueroa had three RBIs and Durflinger one. Blaine Bryant went 1-3. Landon Becker went 1-4 and Tristin Cloke 1-2.
Blaine Bryant, Cloke, Figueroa, Quin Snyder and Corbin Humble were all on the mound for the Comets.
Durant 5, Mid-Prairie 4
Mid-Prairie held a 4-2 lead after one inning against Durant, but the Wildcats scored three in the second to make it 5-4.
After five scoreless innings, the Golden Hawks were never able to find the runs needed to pull out a win.
