Prep football roundup: Columbus stays unbeaten, Van Buren wins big

Columbus 39, Wapello 19
The Wildcats continue to roll with their third straight win.
Columbus scored 13 in the first half and 26 in the second to down the Indians.
Kaden Amigon rushed for 266 yards and two touchdowns on 22 carries in the win. Triston Miller rushed 12 times for 125 yards and two touchdowns as well. Miller also returned a kickoff for a touchdown.
New London 50, Winfield-Mt. Union 44
New London and WMU played an instant classic Friday night.
The Tigers held a 22-16 lead at halftime and led 36-16 lead after three. The Wolves outscored the Tigers 28-14 in the fourth, but New London was able to survive.
For WMU, Cole Milks threw for 193 yards and four touchdowns.
Cam Buffington ran for 112 yards. Milks had two rushing touchdowns as well.
Through the air, Buffington had 112 yards receiving and four touchdowns. Abram Edwards finished with 56 yards receiving.
WACO 49, English Valleys 0
WACO stays undefeated with the win over English Valleys.
Isaac Oswald threw for 139 yards and two touchdowns. Oswald also ran for two.
On the ground, Simeon Reichenbach ran 10 times for 99 yards and a touchdown. Reece Oswald and Louden Huisenga each had touchdowns as well.
Oleh Shtefanchuk led in receiving yards with 51. He and Reichenbach had touchdowns through the air.
Van Buren County 70, Louisa-Muscatine 22
Van Buren grabbed its second win of the season on Friday night.
The Warrior dominated the Falcons in all facets of the game.
Jackson Manning completed eight passes for 168 yards and two touchdowns. Manning also ran for one on the ground as well.
Izaak Loeffler rushed three times for 113 yards and a touchdown. Wyatt Mertens rushed five times for 107 yards and three touchdowns.
Anthony Duncan and Lucas Fett each caught a touchdown as well.
Sigourney-Keota 42, Centerville 7
The Cobras picked up their first win of the season with the victory over Big Reds.
Centerville was previously unbeaten, Sigourney-Keota move to 1-2.
Pekin 47, North Cedar 6
The Panther defense held strong in this one as Pekin gets its second win of the year.
Luke Long rushed 19 times for 100 yards and two touchdowns in the win. Cade Bemis had 19 rushes for 89 yards and three touchdowns. Will Adam had one touchdown with 88 yards rushing. Logan Lauderman also rushed for one as well.
Regina Catholic 35, Mid-Prairie 7
The Golden Hawks had a tough time containing the Regal offense in their matchup Friday.
Regina scored 14 in the first half and 21 in the second to pick up the win.
Mid-Prairie threw four interceptions in the loss.
Braden Hartley rushed 20 times for 93 yards and a touchdown.
The Golden Hawks move to 2-1 on the season.
Davis County 16, Cardinal 6
Cardinal held for as long as they could against Davis County.
The Comets allowed just eight points in the second quarter and eight in the third.
Their lone touchdown came in the fourth. They drop to 0-3 on the season.
Wilton 55, Highland 9
Highland falls to 0-3 with the loss to Wilton on Friday night.
