Prep Soccer Roundup: Mid-Prairie suffers first loss

BOYS
Regina Catholic 4, Mid-Prairie 1 (Tuesday)
The Golden Hawks suffered their first loss of the season on Tuesday against the Regals.
Mid-Prairie was down 2-0 to Regina at the half. A free kick from Tucker Miller cut it to one, but the Regals scored two in the final 15 minutes of the game to seal it.
With the loss, the Golden Hawks move to 9-1.
Columbus/Winfield-Mt. Union 7, Wapello 2 (Monday)
Columbus scored seven first half goals en rout to a victory over Wapello on Monday.
Wapello scored one in the first and another in the second for its two goals, but it didn’t matter.
Burlington Notre Dame, 10 Highland 0 (Monday)
The Huskies couldn’t contain the high powered offense of the Nikes in their matchup.
Notre Dame took a plethora of 51 total shot with 25 being on goal.
GIRLS
Regina Catholic 3, Mid-Prairie 1 (Monday)
Mid-Prairie couldn’t overcome the Regals one goal lead following the first half.
Regina Catholic scored twice in the first and Evelyn Gerber scored once for Mid-Prairie.
In the second, Regina added one additional goal to pull away.
Ainsley Lueck finished with nine saves for Mid-Prairie.
Columbus/Winfield-Mt. Union 3, Wapello 2 (Monday)
The Wildcats edged out the Arrows on Monday with a goal in the second half.
Columbus held a 2-0 lead over Wapello in the first, but the Arrows scored two of their own in the second. It wasn’t enough though as Columbus added a third to take the victory.
Juvixsa Valdez scored all three goals for the Wildcats. Sarah Campa added one assist. Alynna Leos had 16 saves on the day.
