Prep softball: Comets keep winning, Pekin gets a win

Cardinal 11, Holy Trinity Catholic 1
The Comets scored their 11 runs between the second and sixth inning to put the Crusaders away on Monday.
Maddy Lawson had three hits in the win with one RBI. Ava Ferrell and Riley Bears had a pair of hits each. Ferrell also had two RBIs. Caitlyn Reber, Brinlee Ostrander, Emma Becker, Kinsey Hissem, Madison Diveley and Ashlynn Patrick all finished with one hit. Reber and Diveley had two RBIs each, while Becker and Hissem each had one.
Ava Ferrell won on the mound for the Comets.
Cardinal 16, Holy Trinity Catholic 0
Cardinal scored 13 runs in the first inning and followed with one in the second and two in the third to beat Holy Trinity for a second time.
Ostrander finished with three hits in the contest and four RBIs. Becker and Bears each had two hits. Bears finished with three RBIs and Becker two. Cynthia Albert, Nicoa McClure, Ferrell and Reber all had one hit. Ferrell had two RBIs in the win and Albert had one.
Pekin 5, New London 4
The Panthers and Tigers went scoreless in three innings Monday, but Pekin outscored New London in the final four to win it.
For New London, Sophie Malott and Ashlyn McSorley each had three hits. Malott also tallied an RBI. Elly Manning had two hits and an RBI. Marlianna Woodsmall, Olivia Hester and Chevy Mills all had one hit. Woodsmall also had a pair of RBIs.
Woodsmall three for New London in the loss.
Highland 13, Hillcrest Acadmey 2
Highland scored nine in the first three innings and four between the fifth and sixth to down Hillcrest. The Ravens runs came in the third and fifth innings.
Mackinze Hora and Grace Batcheller each had two hits for the Huskies. Payton Brun, Jessica Kraus, Katie Herrig, Lilly Barre, Grace Prybil and Katelyn Waters all had one. Barre and Herrig had two RBIs, while Waters, Kraus and Brun each had one.
Kraus was the winning pitcher for Highland.
For the Ravens, Morgyn Nafziger had a pair of hits and an RBI. Malia Yoder, Delaney Shaw and Grace Miller each had one. Esther Hughes had an RBI for Hillcrest as well.
Leah Bontrager threw for Hillcrest in the game.
Lone Tree 8, Columbus 2
The Wildcats struggled against the Lions. Columbus scored one in the second and fifth, while Lone Tree scored five times in the first, once in the fifth and twice in the sixth to take the win.
North Mahaska 15, Keota 0
Keota had a rough time with North Mahaska on Monday.
North Mahaska scored six in the first two innings against Keota and nine the rest of the way to end the game in five innings.
Louisa-Muscatine 11, Winfield-Mt. Union 1
