With softball and baseball season winding down, it might seem too early to talk about basketball, but two area athletes have been showing their skills off at the Primetime League in North Liberty.
Going up against, or playing with, athletes such as Iowa?s Jarrod Uthoff, IMS? Eli Gingerich and Derek Anding were selected to play in the summer league event, and have taken advantage of playing with talented athletes.
The full round-robin just commenced for the league, and the playoffs for the teams will begin on July 23 at the North Liberty Recreation Center.
Gingerich has put up 12 points for his team this season, all coming from 3-point range, after appearing in four of the six games this season.
He has recorded an assist in each appearance, playing alongside Uthoff.
For Anding, he has recorded five assists and nine points according to the statistics posted on the Primetime League Web-site, and is getting the opportunity to play alongside former Hawkeye and current Finland professional Melsahn Basabe.
