Pry finishes top 20 at state

MARSHALLTOWN - Round two of the Class 1A state golf meet finished in Marshalltown on Wednesday and New London's Addie Pry finished 20th place in the 79-player field, finishing the tournament at 184.
Pry shot an 89 in the first round, which was finished up before round two action on Thursday. She made par on holes six, 14 and 17 during her first round.
In the second round, Pry shot 95. She made par on holes three, eight and 16.
Pry finished just ahead of another local golfer, Aubrey Duncan of Columbus Community, who finished 21st with a final stroke count of 185.
Annika Patton of Alta-Aurelia cruised to victory, winning the event with a final score of 148. She shot a tournament-low 70 in her second round to win the meet. CAM's Sammi Jahde finished second place with 154.
Pry, a senior, ended her New London golf career with her top-20 finish. This tournament was the last spring sports event for New London athletics this season.
