MARSHALLTOWN - The rough weather continued to wreak havoc on Iowa's state golf meets on Tuesday, and New London's Addie Pry was right in the thick of it. Pry was only able to finish 11 holes at the Class 1A state meet in Marshalltown, but she made the most of those, ending day one in the top 20.
Pry came in to Wednesday morning tied for 17th with four other golfers. She is shooting +13 with seven holes to go in round one.
Pry is finishing up her round this morning, as will the rest of the field. None of the Class 1A golfers finished day one, as the rain pushed the end of the first round to this morning, with the second round still to come later today.
Pry, the only Henry County golfer to make state in girls' golf, began her day Tuesday at hole two, and ended at hole two. She finished with one par on the day, going even on hole six.
Alta-Aurelia' Sannika Patton and CAM's Sammi Jahde co-led the field after day one scores were reported. They are both shooting +5, with Patton finishing 13 holes and Jahde finishing 12.
If the rain stays away, the Class 1A tournament will finish up later this evening. The News will have full results from Marshalltown in Thursday's edition.
