Quartet of Eagles named All-SICL

The South Iowa Cedar League released its All-Conference baseball team earlier this month as the 2023 season wrapped up. Keota earned four nods on the list. Two Eagles were named to the second, and two were given honorable mentions.

Pitcher Aidan Anderson was named to the All-SICL second team as a utility player. Anderson led the offense with a .338 average, four doubles and 19 RBIs. On the pitcher’s mound, the senior finished the year with a 5-1 record, a 1.98 ERA and 64 strikeouts.

Junior Evan Vittetoe made the list as an outfielder. Vittetoe hit .247 this season, and finished with four doubles, one triple and 12 RBIs.

Junior Tanner Waterhouse was given an honorable mention nod. He finished the year with a .329 batting average, three doubles and five RBIs. He also went a perfect nine-for-nine in stolen bases this season.

Senior Caleb Waterhouse was also put on the honorable mention team. He hit .295 on the season with five doubles and 10 RBIs. He also stole nine bases on the year, in just 10 attempts.

The Eagles went 11-12 overall this season, and finished the year with a 6-8 SICL record. Lynnville-Sully head coach Scott Alberts was named Coach of the Year, after the Hawks went a perfect 15-0 in league play.
