Quartet of Eagles named to SICL boys teams

The South Iowa Cedar League released its All-Conference boys basketball list for the 2026 season last week, and as expected, Keota was well represented on the list.

Keota went 15-7 overall this year and 10-6 in the South Iowa Cedar League, taking fourth place in the conference. The Eagles had four players on the list, including one first-teamer.

Senior Chase Haifley, who led the team with 15.9 points per game this season was the only Keota player to make the All-SICL first team. On the second team, fellow senior Jackson Vittetoe (13.4 PPG) made the list.

Keota had two juniors named to the All-SICL honorable mention list. Both Porter Cave and Ayden Galindo made the team.

The 2026 Coach of the Year award went to Lynnville-Sully’s Nicholas Harthoorn. Lynnville-Sully was 23-1 this season and won the SICL with a 16-0 league record.
